MSI CEO Helene Gayle departs to join Chicago Community TrustSeptember 12, 2017
Helene Gayle, McKinsey Social Initiative’s first CEO, will leave in October 2017 to join The Chicago Community Trust, as President and CEO.
“It has been a great privilege for me, as MSI’s inaugural CEO, to shape its strategy, and set it on a path for impact,” said Dr. Gayle. “I’m proud of the work the team has done to tackle youth unemployment—Generation became an independent nonprofit and is seeking to scale its impact across the world—and I’m excited about the new projects that we have been developing for MSI.”
“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected to head the prestigious Chicago Community Trust and to work with the board and talented staff to further its critical mission of leading and inspiring philanthropic efforts and civic involvement to improve the quality of life for the people of the Chicago region,” said Dr. Gayle.
Michael Halbye, Chairman of MSI’s Board of Directors, said, “We wish Helene every success in her new role and are tremendously grateful for her leadership at MSI. We are committed to building on the success of Generation and looking at new areas where we can leverage McKinsey’s knowledge and skills and build cross-sector partnerships to tackle society’s biggest issues. We will make an announcement in due course about leadership appointments at MSI.”
